MegaNet Communications Inc., the area's largest commercial service provider, is announcing the recent deployment of a business class wireless network to service the commercial connectivity needs of the Southcoast region. This quickly follows the launching of the company's subsidiary MegaBroadband, a provider of broadband wireless service to residential subscribers in Fall River and the surrounding area.
MegaNet's Business Wireless is a reliable, always-connected, high-speed Internet service targeted to the needs and budgets of small and medium businesses. The key features that make the service truly "Business Class" are a Service Level Agreement, scalable infrastructure, and network monitoring.
"Finally we have a product that can bridge the gap between low reliability DSL and high cost T1s." said Jim Smith, Co-Founder and Director of Commercial Sales.
Until recently, offering a guaranteed service level was problematic on all but the most expensive wireless equipment, effectively putting wireless applications out of reach for small business. With the deployment of MegaNet's Business Wireless network, designed by Motorola, the company can deliver guaranteed data throughput while avoiding needlessly expensive installations, equipment, and licensing fees.
Traditional wire-line business service is delivered on a costly phone company circuit called a T1. The monthly cost of the T1 circuit is subsequently included with the monthly fees an ISP charges. MegaNet's Business Wireless product requires a simple antenna installation to complete the connection and eliminates the hundreds of dollars businesses indirectly pay to the phone company for commercial Internet connectivity. In addition, Business Wireless is extremely scalable, allowing businesses to add additional speed without the expense of additional phone company circuits and installation.
Rounding out the service is the same 24/7 proactive network monitoring MegaNet employs to maintain trouble free, uninterrupted uptime on it's installed base of commercial customers throughout the Northeast.
